Everything I have read or been told says a pregnant woman needs 12 8oz glasses a day. Depending on how large the glass is you are using, what else you drink or eat and you may find that your 4 glasses is close to that. If not, then you may want to try to make an effort to get more liquids, it doesn't have to be plain water, it can be juice, decaf ice teas, milk, popsicles, even ice cream can count towards your water intake.

Also your body will tell you if need more water, you will have itchy dry skin, you may swell quite a bit in your ankles, your eyes might feel dry, you may get a real bad case of dandruff, you might be constipated, your urine might be very dark, and there are other symptoms that indicate a lack of hydration. If you are feeling fine, baby is fine then don't stress. Every woman is different and every pregnancy is different.

Personally I think that if you weren't getting enough liquids you would know by now. If you feel good then don't worry about it, I'm sure some people would be horrified about some of the things I have and haven't done while pregnant and will be certain my baby will be a monster because of my decisions. I'm at 34 weeks, doc says baby is at least 5 pounds maybe more and probably close to 19 inches long, maybe longer already and that we seem to be very healthy. If your doc's not worried just enjoy your pregnancy.

I know that there is no substitute for water, but can you drink juice? That can count towards keeping yourself hydrated. Or have you tried drinking the crystal light drinks? I know there is extra sugar and stuff in that, but it still helps get the water you need. I would not worry about it, I am 15 weeks and drink a lot of water too, but I don't even keep track. I'm sure I don't drink 64 oz of water everyday...maybe not even most days... but I do drink plenty of fluids.

Good Luck!

You should drink 8 glasses of water a day when you are not pregnant and at least 2 more when preggo. If you don't like water, just mix it with juice so you can get some liquid in. Your baby will thank you for that!

normally you should be drinking half your weight in ounces(avg person is 64) and even more if your preg. i'm not a gr8 water drinker either but as said above you get water from lots of sources your prolly fine if your urine becomes dark yellow(this is hard cause vitamins make this also) or cloudy with a headache you should make an extra effort to drink more water as these are signs of dehydration

You should be drinking 64 oz *8 glasses) of water/fluid per day. I buy the 16 oz bottles of water. It seems to make them go down easier.
