Total donuts = 40
Total $ = $342.50
glazed = g = 25
chocolate = c = 40 - g = 40 - 25 = 15
(6.50 * 25) + 15c = 342.50
162.50 + 15c = 342.50
162.50 + 15c - 162.50 = 342.50 - 162.50
15c = 180
15c/15 = 180/15
c = 12
The chocolate donuts cost $12 each.

First you would times 25 by 6.50 to find how much money just the glazed cost.
6.50 x 25 = $162.5
Now you know that the seller sold 15 chocolate donuts, because 25 were glaxed and there were 40 total (40-25=15)
So you would subtract the total amount (342.50) from the cost of the glazed (162.50) and come up with $180. Now you know that 15 chocolate donuts cost $180. You then divide 180 by 15 to get the unit price of one chocolate donut. The answer is $12.

Its a simple algebra problem:
1) 25 times 6.50 = 162.50
2) Subtract 342.50 - 162.50
3) = 180.00
4) 180 / 15 (the remaining number of donuts)
5) 12 dollars

I see you received a good answer for your math question; however, I have a question. Isn't school out for the summer?
