yeah this is not really emo...and just because you listen to a certain genre of music...doesn't mean you fall into that category. Don't try to label yourself based on the music you listen to. Well...don't try to label yourself in general. That's where a lot of the drama starts.

Oy Vay *rolls eyes* No you are not emo. Tell me do you dress in like all black with underoath shirts and you only wear stuff from hot topic?? If you don't then you are neither goth nor emo. Those bands aren't even techcanicly emo. Whoever told you they were was seriously mistaken. My Chemical Romance is sometimes mistaken for emo, but they arent. Likin Park is altenative therefor their are unclassifiable, Blink 182 is more punk than anything. Don't worry when you start feeling depressed and you cut yourself then your emo. In the mean time stop trying to label yourself. Its stupid.

Wow! Not ONE of those bands is emo. And LP is definitely not emo!
Linkin Park's music was nu metal. Their new album is alternative rock.
My Chemical Romance's music is alternative rock.
Papa Roach's music is nu metal.
Blink 182's music is pop punk/pop rock.

first off those bands aren't tencinally emo
linkin park and papa roach are nu metal
my chemical romance is more pop punk
and blink 182 is punk-pop-rock
Emo is completely diffrent
if you want to hear the diffrence an emo band is like
Alesana or Senses Fail or Lovehatehero

Nope. It's stupid to think that. It's like saying, just because I listen to country music it makes me a redneck! Like my friend who absolutely loves country music, she is part korean and lives in South Dakota! no where near the south.

I guess every person goes through their phase of listening bad music. I mean I used to listen to Taking Back Sunday when i was like 12 non-stop.

why must people be labelled for the music they listen to or how they look/dress,etc. ? I never bought into that. I am who i am and like what i like and have never "fit in" to any "clique" and i'm proud of that. I like being an individual.

liking the music is different. i LOVE emo music but i'm not emo. when you start feeling depressed and cutting, then you know you are emo. but trust me on this, it is sssooo not worth it to be emo. dont try it.
