help with word doc.?

how can i stop wrod from earasing everythign after something when i type. like if i have a a sentence and i want to add something before it, as i type what i want to add everything ahead of it earases. is there a way to stop that from happening?

there is a button on your keyboard just to the right of the letters called "insert" usually it is located right above the delete button, hit that button and then try to do what your doing in word

IN ADDITION TO ALL THE ABOVE ANSWERS, here's the way to keep this from happening every time you open a document:

1. Click on the Tools->Options menu item.
2. Click on the Edit page.
3. Under Editing Options, make sure the Overtype Mode checkbox is clear.
4. Click OK.

Generally solves the problem once and for all.

Press the Insert Key everything will be back to normal

Before you start typing it in, hit the INSert key. It's a toggle to turn destructive on and off.

Hit the Insert key on your keyboard. It's on and you need to turn it off.

You probably have Overwrite initiated. Hit the Insert key to disable it.

lol there's no insert key on my keyboard lmao. what u should do is copy the words that you would delete when typing before it, then when u done typing the words before it, paste, voila!
