Okay well sorry for the lack of technical lingo...
I just posted a question about getting a new ac adaptor because I thought mine had been bent in a direction for too long that made it not function properly. I also noticed that the metal tip was extremly hot and so was the hole that I plug it into.

Anyways today I got the new powercord and saw that my computer wasn't charging again. I touched the hole and it literally burnt my fingers it was so hot. So it has to be a problem with my actual lap top right?
What could be wrong with my laptop to make that hole so hot, and what can I do about it/ where can I take it?

It is a compaq presario and I usually have it turned on all the time.

Thanks for any help!

It's unclear to me what exactly is hot. But anyhow, whether it is an "internal" (laptop) component that gets overheated or an external thing, you should go with your laptop and adaptor to get it serviced. You don't want to risk fire because of that.
Especially if you smell that hot thing and feel funny odors.
It could be a bad contact with the power line (bad dangerous plug in the wall), it could be a bad wire (that again dangerous as it could spark).
You must get your pc checked by a specialist.
Really.

Amp of AC adapter is powerless than the laptop, so it burnt and might ruin laptop.

Exchange another adapter and make sure its volt and amp match with AC requirements in the back of laptop. Then try it again with possible a fuse between. Good luck.

You may have the right voltage AC adapter, but if the current (Amps/mAh) rating is too high then it will get hot, and could damage your laptop permenantly. Also leaving it on all the time is not a good idea, even if the specs are correct it will overheat.

think of of electrical energy as a individual. As this individual runs around up and down the cable giving your laptop cost, that individual gets warm. The circulate reasons warmth and thats what you experience coming from the charger.

You should be careful because that might cause it to short circuit and spark. Does your computer charge when it does this?????
You should defently get that checked out before you ruin your motherboard. it will burn it and then you are really screwed....
I think your ac jack that is in your computer is the prob. that is prob in a bad position. Really should get it checked out or replaced....
