yes! The 2006 BMW 530xi requires premium 91 octane fuel. U could use cheaper fuel but your engine might knock so just use the Premium.

You can use regular gas yes.
The recommended octane is what the manufactor suggest t make the most power and torque. So the 3.0L will make 255hp on supreme.
You can use regular octane, but the car's ECU will back off the spark timing to prevent knocking, and therefore making less power and torque.
All pump gas can be used in all cars, but will give different results power and fuel economy wise.

Please consult your owners manual 91 roz octaine means premium fuel is required. If you think you can ping ping detonate the pistons away that is up to you. The cost of 40 cents more a gallon will be made up with better engine life and more gas mileage. Ping sends a signal to the knock sensor to the engine control to take away ingnition timing and that kills gas milage.

Try the lower priced gas, and if you don't get spark knock ,it will not hurt your car to use it. Some cars just need the higher octaine.

if you can afford a BMW why are you worrying about spending the extra 20 cents per gallon? run the premium, it's better for you engine.
