Though the amnesty bill's demise was a victory for the average citizen, we need more. Congress has made it clear they will only discuss tighter border security in conjunction with an amnesty program. They have no intention of building a fence, only to erase the borders in 2010. We need to continue the momentum and swing this pendulem back onto the people's side. We are at war with our own govenrment on this issue, and I am sure they are already devising another bill with a stronger shroud of border enforcement.

What other countries do is defend their border with lethal force. They also deport illegals. Why dont we deserve the same rights.

Why is the USA supposed to be the lifeboat for the world. Who said we are burdened to carry the weight of every lame *** illegal who is too chickeshyte to stay and defend their own country.

Listen....this is our country, and we have the right to say who we want in and who we dont, just like EVERY OTHER COUNTRY IN THE WORLD.

America is composed of all colors and religions, but.....we are AMERICANS.....and hey, guess what...illegal aliens are NOT AMERICANS

what did we gain????? well, in the bigger picture not much except........there is now an awareness...a very acute and crucial focus that Washington now sees and cant ignore.........people are closer to the point of taking matters into their own hands................just like George Washington said, also Abe Lincoln...............when the government fails to represent the people and enforce the will of the people, then the citizens are bound by their faith and love of their country...to do what must be done.

we did gain something, this bill has awakened even the "not me" crowd. With China and India breathing down our neck, we will not have a secind chance to be a free America like we were in our golden years. We dont have the luxury of a second chance.

What we do now about immigration will likely determine our surviveability as the America we know and love.

Listen...other countries in the world would love nothing better than to see us crumble, we dont have many friends in this world at all.

People, we have to accept the fact that we deserve every right under the sun that anyone else does. Just because we are Americans does not mean we have to bleed ourselves to death to please the world.

We built this country and paid for our freedom in blood. We never ever got a free ride from anyone. America has tried to help other countries but they are SO CORRUPT..........the answer for their problems is strictly internal to them, and they too have a blood price to pay and we cant take sides.

Who thinks that American lives can be thrown away and like some magic we "prove" to the world how sincere we are.

STOP thinking or caring what other countries say about us.

I was in the military and served in Viet Nam a long time ago, and you know what...........we didnt learn a damn thing.

If America is going to jump in a fight..............then fight to win.........forget this police crap and BS......fight to win...and in a fight like Iraq........you kill, kill as many as you need to win.......so either fight to win......or stay the hell out!

And if anything at all this bill has illuminated..........we are fighting and dying....................the damn illegals are getting a free ride on our blood again.

I posed a question in another category, please feel free to look at the responses.

America is rife with apathy, but.............with this bill................even the John Doe on the street.........is tired and has had enough.

It would not surprise me that the next try at amnesty, maybe even has some payback in it, like what do the illegal criminals owe to the USA?????

and believe me people.............they OWE US......they came here uninvited, took our schools for free, avoided the military, got free medical.....etc etc etc..............they OWE US..............the next bill could have serious payback, you know.............JUSTICE?

What about the people waiting legally and patiently to come here? are we trying to reward the criminals and thieves.....and punish people that obey our laws ?????

we don't, that's why Bush and now Rubio have been smacked down. the federal government won't be in a position to be trusted with something greater beneficial than a tournament field. on your different questions... No, you do not prefer the armed forces on the border. the armed forces are warriors, not police and we are unlikely to be capturing all of us. The borders won't be in a position to be a hundred or perhaps eighty% secured. As you assert, it expenses too a lot. What we would desire to do is take away the incentives that the illegals would desire to come back right here in the 1st place. DENY welfare, nutrition stamps, well being care, coaching, public housing and all different entitlements that are being provided to the illegals with the aid of sanctuary cities and states. superb companies for each unlawful they employ. heavily superb. $15-$20K a head and that's billed to the landlord in my view, not the corporation so as that the proprietors can not get out from below this. No help and no job, the illegals WILL flow away. while they're long previous, we at the instant are not spending any further funds on them and would focus our border risk-free practices on the few ultimate that attempt to get with the aid of. those adult men at the instant are not coming right here for jobs or the rest different than nefarious motives. If we are able to do away with the hundreds we are able to focus on the few saving us time and funds and making our border risk-free practices greater valuable and valuable.

You will be fighting a lonely war until Americans wake up like you have..the government is out of control...and what has been gained?..nothing at all because the gates are still open to this natural migration and there is little anyone can do to stop it..Oh I forgot, yes there is but a snowball stands a better chance in hell for the present laws to be enforced and start putting the employers in jail for hiring them..let's begin with Walmart.

Indeed, they will just desguise the bill under another name and format and will submit it back, giving a lot of expensive candies to make the people think that its not that bad... But I hope peoples will remember this and not let themselve got cheated...

I believe that we have gained a couple of things from this. First it has shown us that if we(citizens) voice our opinions enough, we can affect a vote in Congress. Secondly, I think we may have woken up enough legislators, that perhaps not in this congress, but in a future one where control has shifted, we may have enough of them convinced to create real reform. I hope.

We gained nothing. Our government simply said, "We don't have time, we don't care about or your family or your dreams" To Illegal immigrants who come this country for a better standard of living. Most of them come for a opportunity for their kids or themselves, yet our government feels like, "F@$" their dreams. Their illegals, they don't deserve anything. Even If some of our ancestors might of Immigrated to the Americas for opportunities and bullied indigenous tribes for living space."F$%# their dreams.

We need to arrest and deport all illegal's. In addition they should be permanently banned from entry to this country. This might persuade future immigrants to do it the legal way!Never reward criminals!!!
