Sometimes I think that this Generation and others coming up will correct what past generations have wronged. Seems that with us going thru all of our parents getting divorced and seeing them use drugs we may as a group be trying to not go that way? I am conservitive to the core and think that there are many my own age that feel the same way I do about Government and morals. Look at History how everything makes a full cicle. You could argue that there have been worse times as far as morals go. Much worse to be exact. Maybe we are starting to correct the wrong? What do you think?

I think that as technology has increased, the younger generation is getting the chance to either use the internet to learn about other people in the world or travel to see those people. This has made it increasingly difficult for the older generation to have as much sway as they used to.
For example, years ago, it would have been easy for a person in the KKK to get his son to join, as that kid had probably had very little exposure to other races and cultures, so why not hate them?
Also, years ago, nobody would have supported gay marriage, as relatively few people would have even felt comfortable enough to admit to being gay, let alone fight for the right to marry.
And (also years ago) the words "under God" being in the Pledge of Allegiance wasn't a problem for most people as they again, most likely, had very little exposure to other religions (or people with a lack of religion).
The way things are going, the younger generation will definitely get more tolerant and open to people who are different than they are, and I feel this is in no small part due to the fact that they have actually met some of these people and have come to the conclusion that they're not as bad as the older folks say.
This will no doubt lead to a decrease in racism, sexism, religious persecution, and the whatnot. However, if the younger generation does indeed lean in this direction, I think that would be classified as becoming more liberal than conservative.
Just my humble opinion.

I couldn't say whether more 18-28 year olds are conservative or liberal, but I bet it depends on where you live. Personally, I'm liberal. I don't have "loose morals" or believe in purely subjective morals, but my ethical system is not Bible-based; it's humanistic.

However, I do believe that the generations "swing" a little, from more conservative to more liberal and back. Right now, however, I believe America is extremely conservative & about to swing the other way--towards liberalism.

Morals are for the rich, and are predominantly used to justify and rationalise their greed - by labelling and moralising (and then ignoring) all the ecoonomic failure and poor people.

What any normal person would be doing with them is a complete mystery.

It's certainly hard to be less conservative than the Baby Boomers were at that age...

I don't know, and I try my best to influence my generation.
