MESSAGE TO txguy
You have only to look at Canada, England and other European countries who have national health coverage whose citizens have to wait months for routine appointments and years for surgery to see that National Health is not the answer. THIS IS A COMPLETELY FALSE statement...guess what man, we are in the top 10 while America follows Slovenia at 37 for healthcare...let me see the facts you have to back up such an absurd statement.

If he lived in the free market of the US he would charge for healing or be sent to jail for practising without a license....the lobbyists would see to that because he would be putting doctors out of business and the insurance companies would perish and since capitalism is the ultimate religion in the US the lobbyists would ensure the media believed that he was a druggy who kept guns and has all these woman and children locked up.. while you know where this is going and I have not had my first coffee yet....if Christ was to return would he run for president and give us healthcare or be put in jail as some whacko?

I'm sorry, I can't take your hypothesis seriously. Christ wasn't born in the US, so he can't be President.

As already stated, Christ would just cure everybody that believed in him. He'd let those who don't believe perish.
Many believe that health care is a right instead of a benefit. Because of this, those who are not poor, but not rich seek free health care. Face it, the poor, the needy, the old all have health care with Welfare or Social Security. Its those in the middle who chose to have their computers, color HD-TV's, two cars, mobile phones, cable TV who call themselves the working poor, its them that wants the free ride.
I personally know of more than several healthy young working adults who elect not to purchase health insurance. They say they never get sick and if they do, they will pay for a doctor's visit. Its people like that that would flood a free universal system and as others have already informed you, the cost would be astronomical to the common taxpayer.
You have only to look at Canada, England and other European countries who have national health coverage whose citizens have to wait months for routine appointments and years for surgery to see that National Health is not the answer.
In closing, one often make the mistake of applying current patient populations to estimate cost coverage to national health care. The reality is that current usage rates are not applicable because millions upon millions of people today who never seek health care would flood the system when health care is free.
If I needed surgery, I'd hate to have to wait 2-3 years to get it. What about you?

Christ can't be president unless we are able to see him as a materialistic individual instead of a spiritualistic individual. He would need a stand in.
The middle class and the poor are unable to buy healthcare because it costs are at luxury prices. The rich should pay for the middle class and the poor to have health insurance, but hey, if they are unwilling because they are not willing to share their wealth and feel only the rich deserve to be able to pay to take care of their health--- there is only one solution -- it should be free --- just as Michael Moore shows in his movie "SICKO". There are no ands, ifs, are buts about it.

From a biblical standpoint, Christ would never entangle himself in the power hunger corruption associated with government and politics, though we are to respect and abide by legal and governmental agencies (Romans). Further, Christians were expected to live in a manner that promotes the greater good - love. By living in this manner, all people get what they need regardless of social status, race or income (Acts). So just by being who he was, not needing to be president, he set a standard of living that was intended to meet the needs of all. Unfortunately, greed and power have corrupted the ability to think in this manner (proclaimed Christian or not) and people in positions of authority make decisions for a myriad of reasons, but rarely for the greater good of all. Just my opinions, I'm no scholar. Good thought provoking question!

no, get real.............he would have the Israelis do the catering and the Arabs supply the limos for hospital care services.
Then with "coupon" day sales from the Catholic Church he would appear at Graduations and as a Mitzva give a rousing toast of good health. (no charge extra)
His younger brother Murray Christ would handle his bookings.
His Older sister Yetta Christ would do volunteer work at the Synagogue.
Of course his childhood enemy Yehuda Bronstein would be challenging him to "rock paper scissors"....from a childhood grudge.
Jesus always had to trump Yehuda because he used rock paper scissors and sometimes lightening.......which miffed Yehuda a lot.
healthcare schmelthcare ....oyy vey

If Christ were President we wouldn't need a health care plan. He would heal us all and then there would be no more doctors and hospitals. Oh well. Sounds like a plan to me.

Ya, agree with first poster.
Christ could heal everyone at once. In the mean time you will be paying 40-50% income tax for universal health care. And when you get sick, you have to go to the back of the line and wait a month to see your doctor.
I love MIchael Moore, I even get his newsletter. But he is wrong on this one. You want a socialist country? Head to mexico.

If this is a reference to Michael Moore's position on free healthcare to all and take the profit out of it, I would like to say that milk is important to my health. I drink a lot of it. The store should give me and everybody a free lifetime supply of milk.

If Christ was President we'd all be followers of the Jewish faith, and if he could still preform miracles we'd all be healthy and wouldn't need health care.

He'd heal for free but we're not saviors. If I could heal by simply touching someone I would provide free health care also.
