The extreme right and left has been running this country way to long. They wanted the middle class completely out of the way. In their effort to silence us the exact opposite has happened. The middle class has been awakened! We are now angry as hell and won't take this anymore. This is evidenced by the defeat of the latest amnesty bill. The middle class has been shown that you do not have to wait for a formal election, but can exercise their power to steer elected representatives and make them to listen to us. The middle class still has some clout and there is hope for America and to bring us back to the path of our founders and families that toiled, bled and believed in the American dream!

There is no attack on the middle class. You've been suckered by liberal politicians trying to incite class warfare so you'll vote for them.

Being "middle class" is a moving goalpost. A couple of generations ago, middle class would be a family owning or living in a small 2 or 3 bedroom home with 1 bath and less than 1,500 square feet, 1 car, 1 TV, eating out once a week maybe, and a vacation would be to go camping or visit relatives.

Today a family living like that would be considered poor, or lower middle class at best.

The Census data keeps historical household income tables, dividing all households into quintiles. Funny thing, over the last 10, 20, 30 and more years, EVERY class of household has gained real income (after inflation). In other words, every class of household has more purchasing power than it did in the past.

For instance, the middle quintile, the middle class, has real income 15% greater than 20 years ago, and 8% greater than 10 years ago. The poor and the lower middle class have similar agains.

The rich also pay the lions share of the income taxes, with the top 10% of tax payers paying 68% of the income taxes. The lowest 50% pay only 3% of the income taxes.

The rich do not take their wealth unfairly, they earn their wealth by supplying valuable goods and services to us all.

So let's stop all this rabble rousing and blaming others with phoney accusations.

I certainly hope so, but we all have to be willing to speak up and stand up.
