worked ok but the line was not connected so my question is do i need to bleed from the master cylnder or the bleeder valves and get a new line or should i take it to the shop

If the line is still blocked, get a new one and bleed the brakes at or where the brake cylinder is (at the tire) First see if by disconnecting it at the wheel cylinder you can unblock it if by pumping the petal if so reconnect and bleed

you need to let a qualified mechanic do the brake work for you, if you do not bleed them right you could have a situation.

If your mechanic skills aren't any better than your communication skills, I'd say, take it to a shop.
