How about if she learns directly from the SURVIVORS (Victims) of his crime about the pain and suffering (and costs -- in both human toll (loss of peace of mind), as well as physical costs that they MUST take out of their own pockets because insurance does NOT cover the entire losses), how much work they have to do to get back to where they were at before the crime was committed, etc ...
Take her somewhere where she can meet GOOD men .. the kind that do NOT commit crimes, those that would RESPECT her as a woman, and won't sponge off of her either through taking her income, use her for her gullibility (emotional Baggage), and will be there for her in the ways that she needs all the time. This means take her to a cultural event, a community gathering, help her to enjoy even going to the library or out on the town to have some fun and in places other than bars!

Give her something intimate, the kind of thing a boyfriend would give like perfume or a pretty nightgown. Tell her in the card it is for when he is released. If she is depressed, she wont feel like doing much but try to get her to watch a funny movie with you at home or think of funny, light things you can talk to her about. Just be there for her.

she is so much better off with him in there, than sponging off her and making her crazy.
best thing you can do is take her to visit the VICTIMS of her BF in jail. Let them tell her what a JERK he is, maybe she'll understand that every criminal makes people SUFFFFFER and she has no business being associated with him any more.

Hmm...I would throw her a surprise birthday party, and make the theme of the party "Jailbreak!" Then, get a bunch of male strippers dressed up in prison outfits. She'd love it! Or maybe not...

Maybe you could get stuff and make him a care package. It might take her mind off it a little, anyway.
