You don't ask much, maybe we should just build you one. PCI-E is obviously much faster than the other choices, get 256MB ram if not more. SATA is faster than ATA, Nvidia vs ATI is a personal choice - same as AMD vs Intel. For system ram - a full G would be the minimum.

AMD and Intel is like asking Coke or Pepsi.....
Nvidia over ATI, beacuse their driver support is much better
SATA, becuase I like it
and for the acual question.....2GB or ram is optimal, i have vista home premium and I have 1, i am fine.

At least 2 Gigs.
PCIE
SATA II
Lite-On DVDRW
8800
cpu is a hard one, take your choice. I have a core2duo e6700, and a x2 5600 sitting side by side here, and the AMD is snappier, windows feels quick. it opens programs faster, it opens office faster.
but when it comes to games, the core2duo just mops the x2

Apparently, Vista can't fully use 4 Gb of RAM, so it isn't worth getting 4 Gb.
