When is going on first I push the gas pedal almost on the floor but nothing hapens. I am not sure what the problem is. Does anybody have an ideas please? Thanks.

When's the last time you had a tune-up? Check the spark plugs, spark plug wires, air filter, etc. If the problem persists after a tune-up, an auto shop should make quick work of it. Just make sure you go to a REPUTABLE shop. Ask around for which one around you does the best work for the price.

Without a lot more details on how long "nothing happens", or if anything has been done to the engine recently, it's hard to say.

If the hesitation on acceleration is only for a second or two, it could be the accelerator pump, assuming it's a carbureted engine. If it's fuel injection, it could be any one of several parts or adjustments.

If the engine revs up but the car does not go would think your clutch pads or throw out bearing is gone
