and no nothing is wrong wit being competitive, but it just draws a parallel to tobacco companies who do charrities for smokers...
i mean subway and the reason i fell in love wit it, strongly stood on the "healthy" grounds, that whole JARED marketing, "less fat than BK"
and now Quiznoss comes up with adds making fun of subway, and instead of making a comercial on how QUIZNOS sandwitches are full of fats and cholesterol, they MAKE a comercial trying to sell their "Jumbo" sub...
kinda stands against everything they used to stand for...

Subway has offered the double meat sandwiches for at least 14 years, it has just recently started advertising them. Quiznos were forced to take the ads off the air because they were comparing their extra meat sandwiches to subways regular ones. And remember, not everthing at Subway is low in fat. What is wrong with a business trying to make money? Isn't that the whole point?

geez.. it really isn't what they want... it's what the people want. If subway chooses to sell a sandwitch, the people are mainly responsible for buying it. Ever heard of the woman who sued McDonald's because it made her fat?? wow.. dont be actin' like her now. Just ask for a smaller one if your so concerned. It could also be a better deal to get the bigger one if you plan on sharing. ☺

Perhaps Subway is being the bigger better company by not stooping low to dissing Quiznos as they did to Subway..
Sure the "jumbo" sandwich is not as healthy as the others, but they're not forcing you to get the jumbo one, its your choice.

No, I think they just want to show that they can make subs that are for people with larger appetites. They still have several 6 inch subs that have 6 grams of fat (or less).

I think they are being competitive and giving people more options. If they did away with the regular size Subs then I might think they were selling out.

I was unaware their sandwiches increased beyond the standard 6" and 12" variety. But those commercials bug me; I lived off of Subway in my late teens.

I hadn't noticed. What I did notice is how they ripped off Quiznos toasted bread idea. But that's okay. I still like them.

You make a good point here. I don't know if they are selling out or not. I do think that anything goes to make more $$$.

just because they offer bigger sandwiches doesn't mean you have to order them. they still have plenty of the lean ones.
