I usually have more than one on the go at any time. Have just finished "Black Notice" by Patricia Cornwell, and the Trudi Canavan "Magician" trilogy, so am about to re-read "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" before the last book comes out (boohoo).

I'm also reading "Geisha" by Liza Dalby, and "Diary of a Provincial Lady" by E.M.Delafield. Plus "What to Expect the First Year" by Arlene Eisenberg, Heidi Murkoff and Sandee Hathaway.

And my current favourite: "Spot's Bedtime Storybook" by Eric Hill - that Spot, what a little tyke!

One of the books I'm reading at the mo is 'Kingdom by the Sea' by travel writer Paul Theroux. It's an account of his journey around the coast of Britain in 1982 - at the time of the Falklands conflict, so it's interesting to contrast Britain then, as seen through American eyes, and now.

None- I have like 12 books I would like to read, however enjoying time on the computer, work and helping others with questions leave me no time to read. Each Fathers Day and Christmas I always receive great books, still have them to read and will some day - when some day comes.

I'm actually in the middle of three-"dragons of Spring Dawning" by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman I think, which I carry around with me, "To Green Angel Tower" part 2 by Tad Williams, which I read at home, and "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" by J.K. Rowling, as I'm trying to read all 6 HP books again before the 7th comes out. I really should be reading the books I have for summer reading but I just haven't got around to them yet.

Die Himmelsstürmerin by Rebiya Kadeer. Public enemy No. 1 in China, also known as the Mother of the Uighur (Muslims from the former East Turkmenistan, annexed by China in 1949).
Probably available in English.

Sharatnam is also well worth reading.

A Big Boy Did It And Ran Away. It is by Christopher Brookmyre. I don't think you would appreciate the humour unless you had a good understanding of Scotland!Boiling A Frog may be a good predecessor, Or try -Quite Ugly One Morning, These books are not for the faint hearted!!!!

It is called "For Freedom" and it's by Joy Chambers. It is about the part Japan took in WW2,covering topics like the prisoners of war they took, how people tried to escape when they invaded Hongkong. There are also bits about the Australian forces part in the the war particularly in the far East.It is harrowing in parts, but absorbing and really brings home to you the futility of war.
