Because, some people are instantly hateful, and afraid of what they don't understand.
I've tried to debate issues in the past, on deals with gay rights, conservative values, and even put of data defending my actions, and instead of getting a good valued debate about it, all they can say, is pretty much cut and pasted from some database of hate remarks.
I'd say, if you find someone like that spitting out garbage, delete it, and report it for not being of merit or value.

It is also disconcerting when racist idiots think we cannot see beyond their filthy attacks on people and think we are all idiots.
How about we all be honest and accept both honest answers and honest questions? Is anybody scared of that?

People are in a hurry to get their two points and frequently don't take the time to read details.

I agree - people just want their 2 points. It's really rude and annoying.

They obviously have a low attention span and can't stay awake long enough to answer properly (or just ignore it would be so much easier) don't worry about it

I know. I've experienced the same thing. I think it's because rude people aren't in this to exchange knowledge and ideas. They are here merely to be heard.
