That would be unconstitutional. Only Congress can write laws. An executive order only affects the executive branch.

Because even Bush doesn't want to see his poll numbers hit negatives. The Democrats would have a field day with that. It does Bush no good to tick off what few Republicans are left to support him

The president can't write laws by executive order, in fact the president cannot make laws.

Because when it all goes TERRIBLY wrong. We won't be able to blame just him. Others will have to be accountable too.
Like Ted Kennedy.
Plus there's somthing else going on here. Not sure what but I think it's very sinister and it's being done by both sides.
Somthing tells me we'll all be bleeding from the rectum when all is said and done.

I hope amnesty never passes but there is one bright side to all of this...we now have EVERYONE of the politicians bellies exposed, we know who voted for this and we can vote them out next round.
