Everything that NYGal said is true though I'm just chiming in with my 2 cents on headshots. Black and white is a classic look but color is also the best thing to have especially if the child has bright red hair or a bright feature that can be shown off in color.

Mail an 8x10 Black & White headshot of your cousin to the Talent Agents that represent children, NOT adults.

Ask if they are accepting new child clients, and what must you do to get an appointment for your cousin. Call the Talent Agents in your city and ask if they represent children.

If you are in the NYC area, try Abrams Artists.
They are a top agency and have a kids department.

It does not cost anything to get a Talent agent. When she works the agency will pay her.

She may do commercials, print work in magazines, she may appear in newspaper ads, for department stores, as well as other areas where can work, depending on her age.

If the Agency thinks they can use her, she will need at least 100 Black & White 8x10 headshots. The agency will tell you exactly what they require.
