I have not got my period in 3 months. I am NOT pregnant. I took 4 urine pregnancy tests and they all came out negative but I am worried that something else might be wrong with me. I have a dr's appt on Thursday (next week) but could this be something really bad?

Have you always been irregular? Or was this just a random..not getting your period?
I've had a similar problem...although I've had a history of irregular periods. I went on a progesterone medicine when I was younger and after taking that for a year, it became more "regular". I went on birth control when I got married...I just went off the pill this past December in hopes of becoming pregnant. I waited...and waited...never got a period. Three negative pregnancy tests later, I finally went into the doctor in the end of February. He ran some blood tests and my hormones were a bit off since I hadn't ovulated.
He ended up prescribing Prometrium...which is a progesterone. I took it for seven days and a few days after going off, my period came. This helped kick my cycle back into gear and I became pregnant the following month. (I'm now 12 weeks!)
Your period may not have come for many reasons. For me, it was as simple as a hormonal imbalance. Your doctor should run a blood test...and that will tell you a lot.
Don't worry about it being something really bad. I didn't get my period for over six months one time....I freaked out...but it all turned out just fine...which I'm sure it will for you.
I hope this helps!!

There can be lots of reasons for not having your period, depending on age, weight, stress levels, drugs, and disease. It could be something bad, so you were definitely right to make an appt. with the Dr., but statistically, chances are that it's not too serious. Can't tell you more without more info.

depends on your age.
Lots of things can make you skip periods:
1) there have been small instances of women being pregnant and it not showing up in pee tests. You need a qualitive beta (blood drawn pregnancy test) for starters.
2) premenopausal if old enough
3)birth control can cause this
4)stress can cause this
5)malnutrition can cause this
Anyway- get to the doc.

Sometimes you're period will cease for a while due to stress or extreme weight loss or weight gain. Changes in your lifestyle such as those can have an affect, has anything of that sort happened to you?

Ok stop worrying and let the doctor look at you and figure this one out. It could be anything. Do you exercise a lot and thin? This can cause your period to stop suddenly, stress can cause this.

It could be stress or if you have lost a severe amount of weight or changed ur exercise routine. a lot of that will mess things up a bit.
