only if i'm in pain.....

It depends on the medication and the reason. I take my birth control as the doctor prescribes more for controlling my PMS than for birth control reasons. I take my allergy and asthma meds as prescribed otherwise I can't breathe and I'm utterly miserable. The times I've taken muscle relaxants and pain killers, I don't take them nearly as often, nor as high a dose as I'm prescribed. The reason is, I know I have an addictive personality. I like how I feel on muscle relaxants and narcotics so I don't allow myself to use as much as the doctor recommends. Other meds and reasons are different situations. Sometimes I take them. Sometimes I don't.

Yes, and not just because he tells me to. The truth is, when you don't take all of an antibiotic that is prescribed, you are allowing - infact, helping - that particular bacteria to mutate so that the next strain is resistant to the drug you're taking.

Always always always finish an antibiotic.

If I am sick enough to go to the doctor, and pay for the doctor and the medicine, I will take every pill.

Yes; I have bipolar disorder; if I don't take my meds, I usually end up in the psych ward ...

For a less serious condition -- like acne -- I take them about half the time ... at best.
