Hello everyone
I have a bit of a dilema. Even though I work only from 7am to 12noon, I always find myself getting winded. I always carry a bottle of water with me, but I have asthma too so sometimes it doesn't even help. I work in the stock room and up at the cash register and I already fainted and fell over twice (I went to the hospital and my doc said that the baby is alright after I got checked up.). Should I take leave from my job soon? Even standing gets me out of breath and my back aches like crazy (plus my feet are swollen most of the time). Should I take leave now or wait a few more weeks? My fiance says to take leave when I feel ready to (he also works) , but I still would like to save up money for the arrival of this baby. Please help! i want to do what's best for this little boy of ours and I don't want to put him at any risk or danger. Thank you.

I had the same problem. I have asthma and my job required me to stand a lot. I had a hard time breathing and I even had blacked out a lot. Part of the reason may be because your baby is now pushing upwards, they need room to grow and therefore they push upwards smashing all your organs together.
Mine got so bad because I started getting sick and feeling light headed. My doctor gave me a note and asked that they give me a chair, still didn't work. Well I ended up having to go on leave and got clearance from my physician. If you feel like you cannot take it and if it is making you ill than talk to you doctor and ask him what you should do.

Well, the best thing you could ever do for your baby is to be a healthy Mama. So, whatever that takes, do it. At this point in the pregnancy, the baby may be pressing against your diaphram? so that may be your problem in addition to the asthma. You need to sit down more to help with the swelling in your feet and back pain. Most importantly, you need your rest because you won't be getting ANY when your precious one arrives. So if that means take your leave now, then go for it. Your most important job is to take care of yourself! Best of luck!

Sounds like you need a job off of your feet for a while. You should see if you can get your dr to write you a reduced load excuse. It will limit what you can do and how long you can do it to things that wont make you uncomfortable. Like make it so that you have to set on a chair and run the cash register and no lifting or working in the stock room. It is the best thing you can do right now for all of you.

once the baby drops you will be able to breathe more easily, i had this problem i couldnt walk anywhere i would have palpitations and everything! money isnt everything and at the end of the day if you feel like you need to take it easy then do that, your partner is obviously supportive and you healh and well being at this time are key, dont forget you dont need to be getting exhausted as you body is try to save its energy for when you go into labour! you need to take your partners advce and take leave when you feel ready. good luck and congrats

You shouldn't be working. Doesn't this man of your's know how to provide for you? Knock off this working at 7 months business. No offense, but you shouldn't be having kids if you're working yourself into this state to have money for the kid. You may be putting your child's and your own health in danger, and that will end up costing you even more.

Anemia will not cause this. I felt the same way it sucked, soon the bay will drop and take the pressure off your lungs and you will feel better. sleep on the couch it really helps to get sleep. craving ice can be symptom of anemia or it could nothing. I was all about the ice myself and wasnt anemic. just relax it will get better soon. I know it sucks, good luck and congrats
