Sections of India and China are having a lot of problems with this. Both countries have decent technology and cultures that emphasize having sons. Girls are undervalued in both of them. China also has a one child policy, and abortions are available in both. Unfortunately, this has led many families to abort female fetuses. In some areas, there are so few young women that they've taken to kidnapping them from towns and forcing them to marry.

CHina, has millions more men than women. The "one-child" policy is gonna come back to bite them.
