why do men lie/?

my husband lies to me about where he goes, what he does and who he chats with on the internet. the last time i caught him he said i over react and he took a 50/50 chance to avoid the reaction. My point is that if it were so innocent then he should be able to tell me about it, there would be no reaction from me and he wouldn't have to lie. so my question is why do men lie?

People lie because they have something to hide. I would be doing some investigating if I were you

They lie for all sorts of reasons. Some do it just to see if they can get away with it, some do it because that's all they know and most do it because they really do have something to hide. Either way, lying is not a good thing. By anyone but definitely not in a marriage where there should not be any secrets and neither person should not have to sneak around if they are doing nothing wrong. But ask yourself this question, if he is hiding something do I really want to spend my life following him around trying to find out what it is? I hope the answer for you is no and that you do something about it and soon or your marriage and everything you think it stands for is also a lie. Good luck

Be cause you women cant handle the truth! I have just gotten to the point where i tell my wife everything if she ask me a question she had better damn well be prepared for the answer, if i am on the Internet with a young lady and we are having sex talk and she ask I tell her, now she doesn't ask as much cause now she knows! - i got tired of getting caught lying so now if she wants to know I tell her.

I've lied in the past when compulsive partners demand to know everything that is going on and put me on the spot about it. I really didn't like that. Was it wrong? Yes, but you know, men are suppose to respect women's feelings but it's often not reciprocal - ie, women often do not recognize men don't like being pushed and take a hardass approach to finding out what going on in their man's life.

My ex wife would walk past the computer read one line I typed while playing Yahoo Pool and read into it, that I'm trying to hook up with someone. I would scroll back down show her the complete conversation. After about the 10th time. I told her enough was enough. I would never show her, I would click minimize the screen, and not let her read anything. In the end come to find out, she was the one hooking up............notice I said "ex" wife. Good Luck

It's in their genetic make-up....you have to decide whether to take it or not...I'd say NOT...but he is your husband and you married him for better or for worse....he might be hiding something deeper than what he is lying about...

they person above is right...women lie too..but it does seem that in marriages..men lie the most...

If he covers up what he's doing or where he's gone on the Internet and/or lies about it.....he's hiding something.
