He passes EVERY bill by a Republican controlled house and Senate (talk about the Pork)-except the (2)stem cell and Iraq bills. And look at the loyalty his royal subjects have shown him-all he really wants to do is provide coorporate America cheap labor-they can't get cheap labor with Unions and such wanting health care and other frivolous benefits. He even promised his BASE there wouldn't be a draft...come on ....

Conservatives are loyal to conservatism, not Republicans. Bush was not being conservative with the amnesty bill. So conservatives put their foot down.

Loyalty is ONE thing...-REALITY is another. And from the very outset, the "reality" has been- that "King George" has never really had much of a "following" in the first place. Unlike "Prince William" (Clinton I )- whose followers stood behind him through "Monica Gate" & high water, George's supporters voted for him for Ideological reasons- not practical ones. Now "practical realities" have caught up with the Republicans- and "King George" has become the sacrificial "lamb" of an Administration of Failed Policies.

I admire President Bush, and remain a supporter of his, just not on Immigration. The difference is that Republicans can disagree within their own party. I think it's laughable that so many liberals still tout Clinton as such a great President.

"Conservatives" are always willing to throw one of their own who doesn't quite fit the profile overboard -- or, as the kids are saying these days, throw him under the bus. Ask Nelson Rockefeller (1964, '68). Ask Gerald Ford (1976 primaries). Oh, wait, you can't, they're dead. So ask the elder George Bush (1992), Colin Powell (1995 and now that he's telling the truth about Iraq), Bob Dole (1996), John McCain (2000), Paul O'Neill (2003 -- the Treasury Secretary, not the ballplayer).
