yes when i was younger i had a couple they were a blast i had a racing one and an off-road one, and all my friends were jealous

Sherrie, If there is a designated area near buy to drive for fun or race they are a blast. I wish you would have included a description of the cart you had in mind for your children. There are about 50 brands. Racing carts are available at Teo pro car and Bicknell racing. If you want a strictly lawn and driveway cart many independent lawnmower shops have them. It's a great way for kids to learn to steer push the throttle and use the brakes. If your location has busy streets I'd forget it because kids will be kids by testing asphalt the split second you may not be watching.
I was a fortunate kid as my dad and I raced on weekends and had a 1/5 mile asphalt driveway to test sprocket ratios and tune motors.

Make sure you've got enough space for one, and that they know how to use is safely. Thing with engine + inexperienced kiddie = crunch.
