Or someone with any other Major mental illness? I'm asking this because I was raised by a father with Mental Retardation Syndrome and a mother with Boarderline Personality Disorder. C.S.D. turned their back on me and I attempted suicide several times and had to commit a crime to get locked up to get out of the situatioin.

this is kind of hard for me to ask and not sure if I would support a law like that because I have BPD and want children. But trust me, I'm alot smarter than my mom and have gotten farther in my life than her.

My mom has two patients who are mentally retarded and have a "normal" son.

Reproductive rights is a complex issue of which the ACLU has a lot of articles and materials about.

I would look up their web page.

The order of controlled abilities is certainly a domain of God.
When someone grows, and finds that the opportunities are
better than their parents, you immediately realize that something
is missing. The real status is eating and nutritional foods that
sustain the strong mind. If you can understand this area of your
life, be careful with this trend and God will grant you the blessings that are recently available and upgrade your home. This
is serious areas that demands steady resources none that were
available to you as a child nor your parents. Keep your faith on
good church principles if you can help your parents, there are some good breakthroughs in foods now. Get a good solid plan of
meal, and menu design before you attempt to start children.
Your life is precious before God, and all of HIS blessed angels,
and children of this world, use safety, and family traditions, share, and keep interested in community actions for strong health.

Both of my parents were paranoid schizophrenics and I was conceived in a mental hospital. I was the sixth child born to my mother. According to many, I should never have been born but consider this...

I have been the number one support to my mother (adopted) and my handicapped sister.

I adopted five children and now have 12 grandchildren

I put my husband through graduate school

I worked in an orphanage

I protect over 100 children every year from abuse/neglect

I took care of my mother in law when she was bedridden and was present with her at her passing

I have many good friends

My life matters and I have touched so many. Who would wish that I was not born?

A responsible caring person won't pass on they're genetic diseases to someone else, who will just have to suffer. I have learning disability and other mental issues that would not make me a good parent. And I wouldn't want to create or add to the growing social problem in society.

No. There's no clear line between mental retardation and most Y!A users. It wouldn't be fair to arbitrarily make one. So far, we don't have a problem with the mentally retarded out-producing the rest of us. Why make a problem where none exists. Besides, YOU are the reason we should allow it. You came out alright.

NO, that is eugenics and the practice of eugenics is illegal.

I do tend to agree with you that when two damaged people breed they will produce more damaged people, but if you start the precedent with retarded people then where will it end? Will you prevent people who need glasses from breeding? It would certainly improve the gene pool, wouldn't it?

You are treading on dangerous territory with this concept. I see your point of view and I can even agree with it. But the precedent that your idea sets is too dangerous to consider.

That is a tough question...

If the parents are truly not fit to properly raise and take care of a child then I'm not sure...
