I believe it would to a certain extent. That may help to correct the fact that corporations are controlling the two major parties, and thus government.

I actually love this idea. It gives the power back to the people. Without the high dollar backing of corporations and lobbyists, politics could return to an open forum where even a third party presidential hopeful could win the Presidential election if he was truly the best candidate.

Take the power away from lobbyists and give it back to the people.

Well you'd have to figure out where that money would come from. If from the government than you could say the person with the most money wins since that person is probably going to vote for someone. So instead of giving people money then just let them vote for someone which would make campaign finance obsolete.

How would we know who to give the money to? This would be simply replacing voting by ballot to voting with dollars, a separate election if you will.

I'd like to see campaign finance reform too, but this doesn't look like the answer in its present form.

Why do we have to GIVE money to anyone? $25 is affordable for even the poorest of people. Tell them to open up their pockets or don't ***** when their guy loses.
