Actually Kramer was on strike from the bagel shop. He was the last lone hold out. As far as how he got food, it came from Jerry's refrigerator. I think he ran a tab with the landlord. He did do the coffee table book that turned into a coffee table and was on Regis and Kathy Lee. He sold his stories to Jay Peterman, then started the J. Peterman reality tour. And he filed numerous lawsuits over the years. And he did try his hand at acting out in Hollywood, and was mistaken for a killer. It was an ongoing joke on the show that he had no meaningful job. Remember the show was supposedly based on nothing.

The J. Peterman Reality Bus Tour, and from holding the patent for 'the Bro', a.k.a. The Mansiere. Or the 'Make Your Own Pizza Place'. He had multiple streams of income. ;-)
