I'd go with a combo of gold, silver, black, and white.

Use a friend's favorite colors instead of yours, that way you will think of them whenever you are wearing it. Or make yours for a friend and a friend make yours. I suggest only using 3 or 4 colors so it will look put-together and not wild and all over the place. I like red and orange, warm colors, but you can use blues and blacks and "cool" colors together very well too.

I think retro. colors would look cool. Try black/pink. aqua/pink. lime green/pink. As for some combinations with brown, brown/gold, brown/aqua, brown/pink are some good choices.

If you have some, metallic blue, purple, pink, and silver look GREAT together! If your friend is more into reds and blues together, try red, blue, and gold (metallic, also). Play around with different patterns! Good luck!
