It is pressure that keeps it in so:

a) Don't open the bottle
b) Keep it open as little as possible
c) If it is possible, re-pressurize the bottle afterwards (You'd need to pump air into the space at the top!

they make a replacement for the lid which lets you pump air in. it's called a fizz-keeper.

that keeps the air pressure up in the bottle and the CO2 doesn't escape.
