Laminate Cardboard?

Hey. I'm trying to get some cardboard laminated, but Staples said their machine isn't big enough to do something that thick. Does anyone have an idea for something I could use from home to laminate it?

how about clear contact paper

They only thing I can think of is to spray it with a clear sealer of some sort. Maybe a print shop that handles large format products, like huge color posters or "blueprints" can help.
