Okay what is this with products from China lately?

Now this is not to really be an ad for Buy American but lets just go to the record this year.
Tainted Dog/Cat Food
Poisionus Toys
Tainted Food Products
Defective Tires
Tainted Toothpaste.

And its not to be a criticism of the Chinese people but what is their government doing to stop this and how many more products do you think will add to this list this year alone.

I'm more concerned with the fact these substandard products got to market in the US to begin with. Free trade my @$$! I say boycott anything 'made in China'.

The reason you are recieving so many products from china is because of free trade.

Now that companies importing from China nolonger have to pay a tax levy on imported goods means that local suppliers (whose costs are higher due to OSH and various other regulators) can't compete as cheap.

The reason China can produce goods so cheap is there work force is huge, they probably don't have minimum wage, and if they do it's probably only $1 an hour.

Since the work force is huge many familys are greatful to recieve a $1 an hr aas this is better htan nothing an hr.

Also china doesn't have the same Health and Safety requirements as western countries so with no risk of a compliance officer coming round or no ned for saftey gear the overheads of running their companys are even lower.

Free and Global trade are the worst thing that has happened to the world. It hasn't helped to end poverty it just helped to make western countries poorer.

The on flow effect is big companies will close local factories and outsource there manafacturing to India, China, etc as overheads (wages, compliance) are much lower.

Hi....Very good question!..Thought the very same thing. I hate to point fingers and accuse innocents but it's strange that all of a sudden we the US are receiving these items that are either tainted or dangerous to our people from China. It makes you wonder if there are terrorists linked to this. I'm not accusing China in general but I'm wondering if there could possibly be a terroist organization working in China deliberately doing this crime by importing these items to the US. I also have to point a finger at our own Homeland Security and our Government officials that operate our imports and health inspectors for our food that is imported to our country. So who is to blame here? Have a great day!

How come the lib - Dem don't have a good anti-China government theory going. Like the anti-US government howling and screeching they have for their own government? China sending poisoned foods to us is certainly cheaper than building nuclear weapons. And more effective.

If you buy un-american, you are supporting other countries. Yes, there prices are very very low, but as soon as they get all our companies out of business, they will have us by the ball and all hell will bread lose. They will have the total market and that is what they want. Prices will sky rocket and it will be our own faults.......BUY AMERICAN

I know it is very scary. So many things I buy are"made in China". I just had to go make sure my shrimp wasn't from there. It wasn't,thank goodness,but this whole thing kind of has me on edge.
