I have often wondered who the President is waving and smiling (sometimes pointing) at when the news media shows him getting off his helecopter at the White House ? They never show the throngs of cheeering supporters behind the cameras.

All presidents do this. Their usually are staff or visitors to the White House/Executive Office Building off camera.

my father in law was in DC the Monday after Father's day..and Bush got off the Helicopter..and there were a lot of people there.

there was one idiot from Kennedy-land that got mouthy..
and my- 86 yr old Navy Captain WWII vet..told him to exactly what he thought of him.
