You need Air, fuel, and a spark to start your car. Always start with the simplest solution then go from there. Could be weak starter solenoid, weak battery, loose battery cables. If your not getting spark, check out your ignition system. Check distributor, coil, module etc...

Two common causes for no spark but cranks:

1. The teeth on the camshaft gear have worn down to the point where the timing chain just slides over the gear when cranking.

2. Older vehicle, the button in the center of the distributor cap fails and falls out so there is no contact with the rotor.
Newer vehicle, distributorless ignition, the crankshaft position sensor is buggered up and can't tell which posiiton the crank/camshaft is in.

I'd start with looking at the crankshaft position sensor (by the timing cover) and go from there.

the first thing i would be doing, is checking the coil and module. also it might be a good idea to check the crank sensor, if your light is on.
