in august i will be traveling from new york to florida and im not sure as to what kind of documentation i will need to present at the airport?

No documentation, if you purchased online, you will need to check in with your confirmation number. You will need a valid id, (preferably a driver's license)
Also speaking, your question states that you are leaving nationally, well, you aren't.

Probably your driver license or your school id but why don't you check the website of the carrier your going on to see what they require or most all have 800 #'s you could call too.

a photo I.D. I fly alot. you do need a ticket but you also need proof of who you are in case security asks. A photo I.D. period. lic, school Id , whatever anything with a picture.

within the states .... you need airline ticket .... thats it. .. well yeah and identification (preferably photo)
