It was an arch-shaped restaurant that served hot dogs and you could decorate them with all sorts of condiments. Does anyone here remember it and is there one still open?

Arch shaped? I remember an A-Frame one. I remember going to them in Orlando shortly after we moved there in the late 70's.
According to the Wikipedia article, the company is the same...they've dropped the "Der" from their name now. Their web site is cited below, as well as the Wikipedia article.

There used to be one in Orlando on the infamous 441/OBT.
Everytime we'd pass it my brother and I would joke about schnitzeling-a-wiener. As in, "Hey there's the Der Weinerschnitzel....I'll Schnitzel your weiner!!!"
Years later, I always would think it a nice place for a Bris reception. LOL!!!

The last one I remember was in SF Bay Area in the mid-80's. I think that's right around when "Sweatin' to the Oldies" came out, right?

Lots of them around.
Best dogs in the country though are at a little mom & pop place in Visalia, CA called "Hot diggity"
