Check your suspension. get underneath your car and litteraly grab and shake each component and check for any play. Im guessing it might be a tie rod. One of my tie rods made a popping noise while braking and turning into parking lots, bumps, etc... good luck.

First thing I'd check is the caliper pins or bolts to make sure they are tight and not cross threaded so as to appear tight but not seated and torqued properly. Check to make sure your wheel lug nuts and bolts are tight/torqued, too.

The noise could also be the pads just slding forward in the calipers when you apply pressure. If the rotors have not been resurfaced and are not perfectly smooth and flat, there can be some old warping and the pads will catch the high spot on the rotor when you first apply pressure. You will sometimes feel some pedal pulsation but not always.

Don't forget to use some silcone grease on the caliper pins too so they can slide freely when you step on the brakes and they eventually wear down again.

Good Luck!

It could be a few things. Your best bet would be to just jack up the vehicle itself and see what the problem is. It could very well be your CV joint broke or is about to break. You don't want this to happen because if it does it only takes a couple of seconds to ruin your transmission. Your CV joints are the rods with large rubber boots on the ends that is on the end of your axles that connect your transmission to your wheel bearings. Reguardless you should check it out or have someone do it immidiatley because it could cause you to be in a serious accident.

Single pop when you apply the brakes or continuous pop while your pressing on the pedal?

Something is sticking, or lodged in the brake system. May need to get it inspected. ASAP.
