LMAO!! you are so right! they want to greet us before they make us severely depressed. maybe they want us to tune in and think something good might actually be happening in this world and they are going to tell us about it, yeah right. good point.

Maybe the same reason that the one news dweeb that made up more false stories than any other ended his show with "And that's the way it is." Then started touting himself as the most trusted man in the U.S.
Show business is funny, no? And the evening news is just more show biz.

I threw out my tv 4 years ago because I was tired of all the bad news. I found it too depressing and I don't even miss it.

Because people love to watch bad news happen to someone else. If we wanted to see good news then they would show us good news but they know that would be a ratings killer.

Cause the media live off pain and suffering. They love it, it gets them ratings and money. To be fair though, it is the news' job to report unpleasant happenings in the world.

They don't want you to have a good evening, they want you to feel bad that you're having a good evening while there are millions of fat people discriminated against or while some politician got caught with a hooker.
