My house is sort of old and a few weeks ago something dropped in our front closet and hit the back of our wall, we realized that the wall sounded hallow. We did a little exploring and realized that there would have to be an open room behind the wall. So far we have only hammered a fairly small hole but it is obvious that there is another room back there. I was wondering if this is cool, or weird, or if something like this has happend to anyone else.

Wow, that is weird, but very very cool. Do you own the home? If so, I'd be making a bigger hole, taking pictures or video and exploring this oddly hidden room. Wonder what is in there, or why it was closed up! Where do you live? I wonder if this has any historic value like the underground railroad or something.

This happened to me too. It was up stairs. My house was built in 1883. When we were renovating it we found a hidden attic that we later found out that it was use as the slave quarters. There was a ladder that dropped down to the kitchen. It was pretty well hidden in the kitchen ceiling. We also have strange things that go on in the house. My kids have had friends spend the night and they have seen and heard things too. So much fun!!!

Never happened to me but sounds like you've got a mystery on your hands. In spare time, investigate previous owners and maybe can piece together who and why room was sealed off. It could have been nothing but too much room to heat in winter, but never know. If you find out how about letting us know what you found. Love a good mystery!!!!

If you're in Britain it could be what's left of a priest's hole. They were persecuted so they hid I believe. Or it could be just that someone filled in the room for some reason like it belonged to someone who died or something or it was just damp!

thats very cool if you own it more space more money!!! good luck with that if you don't call your landlord befor you do anything eles. if not explore do research on the house it could be a gold mine if it's part of the underground railroad.

how fun!....its liek an adventure...ever seen that show on HGTV "If walls could talk" its about things just like this and people discover really neat things....check it out how could you resist....even if it ends up being just a little room for sotarge you can always board it back up again or use it....Please keep us updated on this!
