I have the luxury of being able to leave anytime I want. So I can leave and go to a jobsite, or maybe go to a toy store and get the girls something, or even just drive around. So it is easy for me to get out of a rut.

It would be helpful to know your age but....take a vacation, do something new you've never done before. Go out to a bar, meet some new people, take in a movie with a friend, join a fitness club. Take up a new hobby. Hire a housekeeper. P.S. They say a change is as good as a rest"....Nancy

I do something purely for myself that I enjoy. Read a book, go for a walk, invite a friend over for coffee or a drink, maybe pamper myself by taking a bath or calling someone I haven't talked to in a while.

My "rut" is about 7 feet deep. I dont think theres any way out of it.
