Retail for Photoshop CS3 is $975 (at newegg.com) for Windows.

The reason you may be seeing a lot of different prices is because Adobe offers many different variations of Photoshop.. There's Photoshop Elements (which is a very basic consumer oriented version without many of the professional features of Photoshop CS) costs ~$350, There's PhotoShop Cs3 Extended for $900 (offers 3d Graphics capabilities) .

Be Smart and purchase a prevcious version such as Photoshop Cs2 on Ebay and save your self a bundle, if your a student try Photoshop CS Academic Edition (student use only) .

Mine was $700 or so (amazon). When you're shopping, go to Google and search for Froogle which yields "Google Product Search" and then search for Photoshop and it'll find you the least expensive copy (it can find) at the moment you're ready to purchase...

Expensive lil' booger! Check out the Adobe website. Compare to other Photoshop subpackages (I think it's called Photoshop Elements?) and see if that's all you need! Ask a pro! Be prepared!

it depends if you are upgrading or buying new and which package you buy. you can get photoshop elements for about $100 its a shortened version of photoshop depending on what you want to use it for, its a pretty nice program. I used it to start and then adobe sent me a chance to upgrade to cs2 for i think $250 but that was a while back. you can go to www.adobe.com and check out the prices and products. on photoshop elements though it may be cheaper at walmart.

Adobe just put out "photoshop elements" or something like that. Depending on which version it's either $100 or $130.

$650 for CS3 and $1000 for CS3 extended.

Way too much in my opinion.
