Yes. It shows they are listening to the American people..
But the bill itself was badly flawed. So, other than the fact the immigration mes the cons have created is going to just get bigger for 2 more years, I'm not sorry it failed.
In 2009 we'll bet a better bill--without that stupid $5000 fine or the even stupider requirement that heads of housold go out and reenter the country.
After which, the immigrants will assimilate into American culture and become productive, law-abiding citizens in time--just as immigrants have always done. And all the bigots will have to STFU! :)

They didn't vote for it. They voted to continue debate on it. They want to reach some kind of solution. Learn the legislative process before you spew your opinions.
