I've heard that in most states they only celebrate the day of the holiday (i.e. Memorial Day)?

whereas in Louisiana they call it Memorial Day Weekend, Labor Day Weekend etc. What are your thoughts?

We enjoy and celebrate the whole weekend in VA also...maybe it's a Southern thing:)

I work in a restaraunt and work every holiday, the only one I get off is Christmas, and it is only since working at this one I used to work that as well
