I think if they did that, then they would have to say that all parks have the same homerun distances and that would be nuts.

I don't think they should, because the different lengths and different aspects of each ballpark is very exciting to watch. I love seeing a highlight of an opposing catcher or third baseman try and haul in a foul pop up at the Coliseum, they constantly look to see how much room they have, and it makes for an adventure. The reason for the foul space is because MacAfee is also the home of the Oakland Raiders. Like anything and everything, they're are limits, and I do think that ballparks should not make anything with more foul space than the Coliseum, but hey, it makes it exciting.

To limit the space would be to forbid teams to play in multi-sport stadiums such as the Oakland Colliseum. It does add to the diversity of the sports and allow teams to customize their roster. You are getting your wish though as a trend as more teams build smaller baseball-only stadiums. The A's plan to be in Cisco Field in 2011 and your primary nit will be gone forever, having housed the A's for 44 years and never seeing a batting champion -- and true contenders for a batting title only a couple of times -- due to that foul space.

If you don't like the amount of foul space, you're suggesting the number of balls hit into the stands be increased as opposed to foul pop ups and grounders. Yankee Stadium has a lot of foul space too, but it doesn't bother me. Guess I've gotten used to it, because most Yankee games are usually very long compared to the rest of the league.

I don't think so.
You will get your wish eventually, because the old parks will make way for new ones, which will have less foul territory. You know--to put more "meats in the seats," as my main man Reggie Jackson used to say. . . .

No.
Particularly No for Oakland -- it's always been that way, it has to accomodate a football team (not an appealing thing, but there it is), and they're leaving for Fremont in a few years anyway.
