I hope the tickets were free, because you can see the launch anywhere from the Titusville area facing east. Get there early and stake out a spot, bring all the picnic gear you would for a regular outing, and enjoy a day in the sun people watching. When you leave to avoid the traffic nightmare(believe me it will be BAD), find a restaurant and have a dinner there. Let the traffic die down then return home. It is a perfect day in Florida, very exciting and you will get to talk to all kinds of people from all over the world who are here to see the launch and many who have seen every launch from the earliest times. It's great.

Arriving will be a piece of cake as they trickle in all day. But everyone leaves at once. It took more than 2 hours to return to Orlando after the last launch.

If you have tickets great, but you really do not need them. Anywhere along US 1 in Titusville has an un-obstrucuted view of the launch site (about 12 miles) You are only 2 miles closer on the causeway.

You are seeing the launch during summer vacation. The traffic will be bad. Arrive hours ahead of time and bring entertainment.

I saw the November launch on a turnbasin pass - incredible view, and the traffic wasn't bad at all that time of year. If you can get a turnbasin pass, do so (need to know an employee). You get directed to a different lane at the gate with no traffic.

To let you know how close the turnbasin viewing area is to the launch pad:

The Traffic is horrible, sometimes it isnt because you can still see it from where ever you are, since it goes to the sky,
