I ovulated around the 15 of june and it's been 12 days since. I'm pretty sure I implanted last Thursday. I thought I had enough HCG to test with but when I took a test I bought from dollar tree it came back negative. I'm positive from my symptoms that I'm pregnant. What should I do? Did the test being only $1 make it poor quality or did I test too soon? Thanks

It's very likely that your body just isn't producing enough hcg to be picked up by the test yet. You might try First Response Early Response test, I've heard they are one of the most sensitve. I'd also wait another 2 or 3 days to let it build up in your system. Only about half of women get a positive test at 12dpo, so I'd hang in there a few more days when your chances of showing a positive are much higher. There are some women out there who do not test positive on hpts until they are a week or more late simply because they do not produce as much hcg at first. Good luck.

Wow, I am on 11 dpo and tested with a cheapie test and got a negative as well. But I am hopeful and will wait it out as hard as it is!
For some women, on 12 dpo a positive result is seen. It will depend on 2 factors:
1. How sensitive the test is
2. How much HCG you have produced and if you have enough that is detectible by the test.

Certain test brands sold by dollar tree are ultra sensitive, just like brand name "early response" tests. So I wouldn't rule that test out because it was $1. Experiment with different brands.

I think you should try again tomorrow, and note that you may have more HCG produced as the days go by.

Hang in there and I hope you are preggers :)

it depends on the what level of hcg the test starts picking up I have heard the cheaper test have a higher hcg level your body has to have some pick up 5 days sooner or so they say ept is good and also answer I tested 3 days before my period and got a positive (3years ago) using ept also you could just have a low hcg level wait a few days and buy a better test just to be sure good luck to you!!!

i tested on a dollar store test at 11DPO and got a really faint positive. At 14Dpo i had a doctors app and they confirmed my pregnancy. So i say wait until 14DPO thats when alot of people start to get positives

It depends on how sensitive the test is. Mine was posiitve at 9 DPO. Wait until your period is due, and test again.
