The only way to know is to either flat out ask him...Or just wait until he pops the question.

The best option is to wait it out. Surprises are always wonderful.

Why is he keeping it a secret? This is a sign there will be many bad secrets in his life. What else is he keeping secret? He should be screaming it to the world he is getting married to a wonder girl.
Or does she even know they are getting married or does he?
Weird question
Maybe rephrase and start again.

Why do you want to know? Don't you like surprises? Maybe he's planning on sweeping you off your feet with something truely romantic. Hold off ruining any surprises by asking him questions for a while. My husband surprised me at Christmas time. I felt something was happening just before but he never said anything. I went to my mothers for Christmas and my mother asked him to dinner that day. I thought it odd but also thought she wanted to meet the man I had been dating for a year. After dinner he asked my father if he could speak to him and came back a few moments later and got down on one knee in front of the whole family all 8 brothers and sisters and popped the question by saying he first had to ask my fathers permission. Hell I was 40 years old and this would be my secound time around =) I cried and said yes. Please wait it out and don't ruin what could put you to the happiest day next to your wedding.

It's very different for a woman and a man. Women see it as a goal of their life to get married. Men do not. For men, they have a dozen other goals. Marriage is never a goal. You don't hear of a teenager guy sitting back and saying "Oh yeah, it's a goal of mine to get married." To have a high paying job, to get a house and a great car and a girlfriend yes, but not married. He's just speaking a different language of love than you are, don't despair. Talk with him.

If he has not asked you then you are not getting married, how can he be keeping a secret if he has not asked you? If he is telling people otherwise then you should deny it.

Have you both talked about marriage being in your near future? If not, you might want to talk about it before you get engaged.....
