The lite answer would be to go back to 1967. Vietnam and the Marine Corps behind me.
I would pursue all the ones that got away, oh what fun it would be to unravel.

I would go back to age 11 so I would be at a good age where I'm smart enough to think of my future yet young enough to enjoy all the good things that come with having only to worry about school work. I would then make sure I studied hard and plan for my future so I would be today much better off.

I would go back to November 5th 1955 ( by mistake), then the time machine would run out of gas and I would spend the rest the time trying to find the guy who built the dam thing in the future to get me back and trying to get away from my future Mom who had fallen far me due to the fact that her Dad ( my grandfather) knocked me over with his car....while I was trying to save my own future Dad who had fallen out of a tree into the road whilst peeping on a girl getting undressed.
Hey...that's pretty good, someone should make a movie out of it...!

It would be either 1792 in the town I currently live in (was when the town changed names and started to become what it is today) or I'd go forward in time to January 9, 2009 and I'd be attending an innaguration.

I would like to come back in 100 years for one day, just long enough to see the changes that were made. Providing of course, that there is a country that still exists.

I would go to the years 1980, 1994, 2001, and 2003.
1980 to stop John Lennon's assassination
1994 to tell the vet to check for the illness, which killed my dog. Since we found out too late to save her.
2001 To try and somehow stop 9/11/2001.
2003 to re-live the year before my mother died, by spending more time with her.

I'd go back to the early 1900s. I'd rather go back than forward because the world will probably be crap by then.
