He's getting pretty old, and he's not doing very well.

He's no superstar, but can he help a ballclub? Yes he can. He still hits for average, steals bases and has the ability to make things happen.

If I was a contending team this year and in the need for a speedy outfielder, I would be calling Texas asking if they'd be willing to trade him.

He's still a productive player. The last average I saw for him was in the .290's, and he's always had good strike zone judgment...so he'd walk a lot. He's not as fast as he used to be, I'm sure...few players are at his age...but he's still a good baserunner. He's not the acrobatic center fielder he used to be...but he's not a liability in the field, by any means.
You'd much rather have a young player than an old one, of course....but Lofton's still a good lead off man, who can help a team win.

Sure, he might not be doing as good as he did when he first started but he's a great lead off guy to have on our team. He makes GREAT plays and he still has a 4 or so good seasons left. As for being old, he JUST turned 40. It's not like he's 55. Give him a break. He's great.

No, he is still productive. He is batting .290, has 5 home runs, 11 doubles, and on base % of .372. He has some years left.

He is doing just fine. Older players can continue to florish well into their late 30s and early 40s.

No, I have seen him make some great catches in the outfield. That is just in the last month, too.
